How many stocks are on chain?

194 stocks, 431 listings, four issuers, five chains, as of 2 September 2026. The four numbers count different things, and only one of them answers the question.

194 stocks. That is the answer to the question most people are asking.

Three other numbers describe the same catalogue. All four are correct, and they count different things.

The four counts, as of 2 Sep 2026

194 stocks. Distinct companies and funds with at least one token tracking their share price.

431 listings. Every combination of a stock, an issuer and a chain, each with its own contract address.

Four issuers. Robinhood, Ondo Global Markets, Backed through xStocks, and Dinari.

Five chains. Robinhood Chain, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana and Base.

Why 194 and 431 differ

Two things multiply.

Several issuers tokenize the same stock. 75 of the 194 carry tokens from more than one issuer. If Robinhood and Ondo both list NVDA, that is one stock and two products: the wrapper, the eligibility rule and the dividend mechanic differ.

One issuer puts the same product on several chains. Ondo covers 75 stocks and holds 195 listings across Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana, with a different subset on each. Robinhood holds 194 listings on one chain, Backed 22 across Solana and Ethereum, Dinari 20 on Base.

NVDA shows both at once: seven contract addresses, four products, one page.

Which number to use

To ask how much of the market is on chain, use 194. To resolve an address, use 431, because each one is a separate token to handle.

194 is not 194 out of a fixed total. We hold a reference list of 10,391 listed tickers so that "is this stock on chain" can be answered "not yet" rather than with silence. The catalogue skews to large US technology names, because that is what the issuers listed first.

What is not counted

Proposed and unverified listings stay out. A listing enters the registry after we have read it on chain, not when an issuer announces it. If an issuer we do not track has tokenized something, it is not in these numbers.

Counts change. The board carries a live timestamp; where it disagrees with this page, believe the board.

Frequently asked questions

How many stocks are on chain?

194 distinct companies and funds had at least one token tracking their share price when this site last read the chains, on 2 September 2026. The live count is on the board at the top of this site and carries the time it was read.

Why do some sources say there are hundreds?

They are counting listings, not stocks. A listing is one combination of a stock, an issuer and a chain. There are 431 of those against 194 stocks.

Is that 194 out of a fixed total?

No. This site holds a reference list of 10,391 listed tickers, so that "is this stock on chain" can be answered "not yet" instead of with silence.
